Boarding The Ark Pet Resort

This was the worst customer experience I have ever had. My wife and I were planning a trip and called to make a reservation for two dogs. I mentioned that my German shepherd had a cast on her leg due to a broken leg a month before the trip. I made a point to tell them a few times during the call and the person on the phone said that it was fine. I then called them again a couple of weeks later to make sure we were still good to drop the two dogs off and again reminded them again of my dog’s leg. They again said that it was ok to drop the dog off. When I went there to drop the dog off along with my other dog, the manager said that they couldn’t take the dog due to a broken leg and that everyone there knows that and that it is their policy. This was on Friday Sep 5 and we were leaving for the trip on Sunday the 7th. They spoke to me in a way that made it seem like it was my fought for not planning, even after I called them multiple times to confirm. I made a few choice words and they were more concerned with that than they with my situation. They didn’t give me any recommendations or nothing. I ended up calling River Paw in Montgomery and told the situation and they were more than glad to take my business. However, I wanted to give this boarder a chance and left my other dog with them and told them that she needed a hair cut and shower. When I called last week to confirm that I will be picking her up on Monday Sep 15th, they told me to do so after 2 pm. Around 2:50 or so on Monday (today) they called and said that they didn’t have time to give her a hair cut and shower. The person on the phone asked if I could bring her back tomorrow. I replied that they had 10 days to do it and they didn’t. There was no apology or nothing. When I went there, the excuse they gave was that she was moving too much. This place is very unprofessional and doesn’t take accountability for anything. DO NOT TRUST YOUR ANIMALS WITH THIS BOARDER.

I went in on full panic mode because my dog was having a real bad allergic reaction. Staff responded to my puppy promptly. They were very attentive and reassuring that my dog would be ok. Very clean relaxing environment. Staff is friendly and professional

The worst experience ever. We brought our dog here once before and she was 100% fine and the groomer even told us she was one of the most compliant dogs she’d ever had. Then today we take her and an hour and a half after dropping her off I got a text saying she was “timid and aggressive” which doesn’t make any sense at all. She has had zero problems with anyone before and has never even snapped at any of our 3 small kids. My husband called and the groomer said she’d keep trying and keep us updated. We got zero other updates so I figured they got her going and it was fine. At 4 when I hadn’t heard anything I called to see if she was done and they said they didn’t groom her and we could come get her!! At what point did they know they weren’t going to groom her and they didn’t let us know?!? I get there at 5 and come to find out she’d been in the kennel since 8 am and they never even took her out to go to the bathroom!!!!! For NINE HOURS. She is prone to UTI’s and I guarantee she will have one now. There are very few times in my life I’ve been more ticked at a business than this. They have zero right to be grooming dogs if they don’t have the decency to call the owner if they can’t get a dog out to go to the bathroom. It makes no sense at all. She’s been to other groomers and boarders and NEVER had a single problem with anyone before. So I don’t buy the bull crap they fed me that she was “timid and aggressive” I will never send her to this place ever again and I hope the groomer gets fired and the manager takes a long hard look in the mirror at how she manages so other dogs don’t get stuck without help for 9 hours!!

We absolutely love Boarding The Ark! I use them for doggy daycare several days a week and we board our fur babies when we go on vacation. They are THE BEST!! They live out puppy as much as we do and take the best care!!

great experience! we were able to board our pup & we added a bath & nail trim so he was fresh & clean when we got back to town! stress free experience that allowed us to relax knowing our dog was in good hands while we were away!

Best boarding facility! I've boarded my dog several times, at 4 different places in 3 different states. This is the only place I've never had any issues with regarding the care of my baby. I will go out of my way to bring him here. My only issue is that there is no pick up or drop off on the weekends, which makes it necessary for me to use other places sometimes. The other places at least open for 1 hour each weekend day, making it more convenient.

We brought 3 healthy dogs for a short week of boarding while we were out of town. We picked up two dogs with kennel cough (even though they are vaccinated and they are still suffering over a week after being home), two dogs with diarrhea (took 5 days of serious clean up in otherwise house broken dogs), and one dog with open wounds/sores on her neck (pictured). Will not be returning.
