I can absolutely understand why the current rating for Infirmary Health is so low. While my mother’s nurse was kind and professional, the overall experience has been extremely disappointing and concerning. My mother came to the Emergency Room around 8:00 a.m., and as of 6:00 p.m., she has still not been offered a proper meal, even though staff confirmed multiple times that she was allowed to eat. I’ve called the nursing station several times for help or updates, but the calls go unanswered or take an unreasonably long time for any response. The most alarming part of this experience is that my mother continues to have staring spells when she falls asleep, which appear to be possible seizures or TIAs, yet nothing seems to be done about it. Her tests are reportedly coming back normal, but that doesn’t explain or address what’s clearly happening right in front of us. When I asked to speak with a physician, I was told that the doctor only sees patients once while they are in the ER. That policy feels unacceptable and unsafe, especially for patients who are actively showing neurological symptoms that could worsen quickly. Families shouldn’t have to beg for updates or wait hours for basic communication and care. What’s most upsetting is that despite individual nurses doing their best, the overall system seems broken—communication, follow-through, and compassion are all lacking. My mother’s health and dignity deserve better, and so does every patient who comes here seeking care. I rarely leave reviews, but this experience has made me lose all trust in this hospital. We will not be returning to Infirmary Health, and I truly hope leadership reads this and takes steps to make real changes. Patients and their families deserve attentive, responsive, and compassionate care—not neglect and silence.

My father recently had to be transported via ambulance to Mobile Infirmary’s ER. Ms Renae, who is a CNA and liaison for the ER was extremely kind and helpful. She came to us as soon as we arrived and offered us water and told us what was happening with my dad. She came back several times during my dad’s stay and gave us updates. We also met nurse Trae. He was very supportive, professional, and thoroughly went over every lab value with my mom and me explaining and answering all of our questions. Thank you Renae and Trae!

We had a good experience. Staff seemed to care, although zero people washed thief hands despite the room being neutropenic precautions. That was disturbing because the management obviously has established a culture of poor practice. There is no menu for choosing food. A vegetarian got chicken and bacon with the green beans. Overall, it was pretty good and about the same as most hospital floor care.

I had a appointment today at the Tillman corner location omg the staff was great I felt so welcomed. Dr Howell is the best and his nurse.But most of all I want to thank Miss Tonya Wiley so much for her help and info I needed !!!! Mr Gerald Sanders very professional love his spirit.

The night nurses were extremely disrespectful. One even accused me of lying. The room was like a broom closet. There was a dirty smear on my bed. They never changed my sheets after my surgery. The silverware was crusty. The floor in my room was filthy. The bathroom looked like a public facility. I was there for one week and once discharged to go to an in-house physical therapy hospital I felt like a refugee. My surgeon was wonderful, but I will never go back to Mobile Infirmary nor will I ever let any of my loved ones go there. It was a nightmare.

Yes, it's true they have some major issues at Mobile Infirmary. It's too big to really give quality care. There is an obvious disconnect between the administration and the maintenance supervisor or that department. In a room with NO Air conditioning. Seriously! The RN just said it was complicated to fix it and there were no other rooms available. That was a stupid lie. We had to go buy fans in order to survive. Like being in Mogadishu or some other Third world country-just no active bombing. There is really no good excuse. It's sketchy and patient safety is QUESTIONABLE. I would advise to checkout other facilities -go across the bay. ANYWHERE BUT HERE. If I knew I had to come here and be a patient, in a medical hostage situation like this, I would be terrified. I don't think they have much care or concern for elective surgery. And yeah, there is all that hostile passive/aggressive attitude... It's free of charge.

You must be hyper vigilant about your health care. DO NOT get trapped in the Mobile infirmary without someone staying with you IN THE ROOM. You MUST have someone in the room with you at all times to advocate for your medication administration and treatment or you will more than likely suffer neglect. Chances are your pain will never be addressed correctly, if at all. Everyone is assumed to be an addict so those who are not, Do suffer. The hospital facility is entirely too large to be properly managed. Almost 700 beds in this hospital, some are too old to have working air conditioning.... and they will not fix it. Think about it before you are admitted and become a hostage to their attitudes and neglect.
