Unethical and should be illegal. Billed $146 for a service that was never provided. If you speak to their customer service to try to get resolved they simply repeat the same bogus statement over and over. Our water was never turned on yet a bill showed up. The only option is to pay it. I have spoke to three people with one claiming to be a supervisor yet another person didn’t know who that person was. Mrs. Davis seemed to enjoy telling me over and over that it was my fault that we were billed.

Very unprofessional. I haven’t had sewage for a week because when they turned off the water, they also turned off the sewer shutoff valve. 3 days after the water was back turned on, the sewer line burst. I WILL conduct legal actions if it isn’t rectified.

Customer service needs retraining. I spoke to a gentleman who couldn't manage to give me a single straight answer on more than one thing. He kept talking in circles, then would disappear for 60 seconds at a time throughout the call. He then eventually hung up, because he couldn't give me the date of payment, which I was asking for. Spend 20 minutes on a call with zero progress. Throughout all my years working in sales and customer service, I would absolutely never. If your set up for automatic payments, there's a banner that says, "payments will be processed automatically, no action is due at this time" this is not true. The original payment did not process as it was flagged as fraud, after correcting the issue with my bank, the payment was set to reprocess and they cut the water off prior to scheduled payment date. (mind you, this is only for ONE single month's payment) You're then required to pay for a reconnection fee, but if you're not home, you're paying for them to leave direction for YOU to reconnect your water. Called back and received the adequate information from a lady who took the time to find the answers for me, which only took 5 minutes in the end, but such a sour taste from someone who clearly was having a bad day and an overall poor business quality. Will be escalating the issue going forward.

I can not think of a company worse or more poorly ran than whatever this terrible attempt of a water company is. I had recently just purchased a property and had questions about my bill.. so naturally I call, nobody answers the phone after 5-7 try’s in a 3 day period, so what do I do? I do what any logical person does and go to customer service in person. Upon arrival I am greeted by a Mobile police officer who was immediately annoyed with my presence and then proceeded to tell me “ain’t nobody here go online” (the parking lot was full of cars where is everyone?) angry and confused and out of options I decided to call MAWSS again for the 467th time this week and you will never guess what happened.. are you ready? NOBODY ANSWERED THE PHONE. So I listen to the robot bc god forbid you get a human in 2025 and am instructed to leave a voice mail. I happily listen to the machine and wait for the beep. JUST FOR THE MAILBOX TO BE FULL AND THEY CAN NOT ACCEPT ANY MESSAGES AT THIS TIME. Can someone please for the love of God explain to me what could possibly go on there all day? Or how something can be so terribly established?

They will literally watch your house and wait for you to leave just so you have to pay a 100 dollar reconnect fee. When they used to let you know that they’re there to turn it off and give you a chance to pay it right there. I have an infant and they were to supposed to come reconnect same day only to not and leave my child struggling despite promising otherwise . Horrible people and a horrible company .

On 24 Feb 2023, MAWSS had to come out and fix a reoccurring problem, sewage was backing up into our tubs from the street (again). The repair crew said the first crew from a year earlier did not fix the problem, they just basically put a Band-Aid on it. I was told that a crew would be out within the next 90 days to remove the blacktop that was put on the curb and sidewalk in front of my house. It has now been 173 days and still no sign of anyone to fix the two remaining parts of the repair.

Just moved here and drove all the way to TRY and turn our service on, just for there to not be a single human being to speak to and no direction on how to BEGIN service. I’ve never in my life seen a water system place like this. Immediately googled to see if there’s a competing company. Already fed up and we aren’t even customers yet.

As many others before me have stated, this is THE worst water company in the state, possibly in the country. Not only did they turn the water on at the wrong address, but after I complained they told me they "went back and listened to my original call" and that I had told them the wrong address. Since I assume that... you know... I know my own address, I asked to hear the call myself, or at least for them to send it to me. They told me no. Ergo, I am forced to conclude (with no proof otherwise) that they are liars as well. In conclusion, this company is enough reason to move to Florida.
