US Social Security Administration

I went to this office today with my grandson due to a problem with his social security number. I didn't have an appointment. I signed in on the kiosk and it asked if I had an appt and I said no. It gave me a number. There were about 25 others waiting. After 50 minutes a man walked out and said that if you don't have an appointment you will be required to make one when your number is called. At that point I walked over and asked another worker if I had to have an appointment and she said absolutely. I think they should make that clear when you first get there instead of waiting until you've been there almost an hour to tell you that. And they had a rude lady that was in a security guard uniform and she very loudly told a man that she would throw him out if he could not be patient like everybody else. We could not hear him say anything but I think he must have been asking her how much longer it would be.

I went into the Mobile Al branch with my autistic daughter to set up her direct deposit. The young man that was helping me was very nice. A lady kept coming over to help, or to but into what he was doing. And she was so rude for absolutely no reason. She was sitting at window 9 and he was at window 10. He was so embarrassed by the way she was acting. I felt sorry for him. Sorry that he has to work with her. Some people do not need to work with the public.

I don’t know about the office personnel that actually do the SS work, they seemed to have handled what my wife needed very efficiently. But someone needs to get a handle on the rent-a-cop security guard that was out of line and a complete jerk to my wife today when she walked into the office with a coffee and talking to me on her phone. Both of which are supposedly against the rules, which is fine, my issue isn’t that she was informed of her error, it’s the arrogant, disrespectful manner that he immediately took with her about it. You had better be glad that I wasn’t with her is all I can tell you. But I dare say that you wouldn’t have thought you were such a big “man” and been so aggressive when an actual man was with her. I heard you and your aggressive tone thru the phone. It was entirely uncalled for, and childish of you to provoke her after she hung the phone up, and was looking for a trash can. You just had to open your smart mouth and say “I see you’ve still got that coffee”. You don’t say, what did you want her to do, sit it on the floor? You’re a disgrace, to wear any sort of uniform and lead into an issue with someone, especially a lady, with such a provocative, aggressive attitude. If I can find out who actually employs you, they will be hearing from me as well, and I hope they at least reprimand you. I can not stand a bully and that’s all you are, a bully and a coward.

I have been getting the run around and no one answered the phone. Was on hold for almost 2 hours waiting. At least have a message for a call back. People are depending on ssa to answer when calling. This is AWFUL😔...

I got my name changed today. Mr. Daily was extremely helpful, kind, and efficient at helping me accomplish this.

Called the #800, made an appointment a few weeks ago, took a day from work, showed up early on the day of the appointment only to be told they had no record of my appointment.

It was fast and easy and the employee woman was so nice and very helpful 🙂

Every time you call they have you on hold for an hour. They answer the phone and then hang up on you. Been trying for half a year to get my account unsuspended.
