I would advise to not deliver here unless you want to put your wife or child at risk of being killed. And no, this is not hyperbole. The "revolving door" of residents that run both L&D and the NICU are such a mixed bag that your level of care can go from "fine", to absolutely abysmal depending on who is on shift. We had the displeasure of having chief resident, Dr. Cody Roberts, as the primary attending provider for my wife's delivery, and we found him to be inattentive and arrogant. They had my wife in labor for three days before entertaining the idea of a C-section. Our child had some complications that required him to be transferred to the NICU. However, they transferred him without informing us and were sparse with updates. They are unsure how the communication failure occurred, but it does not matter because it was not the last time we encountered it. The NICU continued to be a wild west of communication failures. The nurses were extremely sweet and personable. The main issue was their communication channel with the providers. The most egregious case of this was when yet another resident, Dr. Abdulrahman Bader, initially delayed our discharge after claiming that our child had lost a significant portion of their body weight. This concern was never passed down to the nurse or us, so we were shocked to hear this new development that came out of nowhere. By this point, we were beyond frustrated and requested to speak with a manager. Upon further review by the manager, it was discovered that Dr. Bader had the weight information IN THE WRONG CHART. In reality, our child had not lost as much weight as initially believed, and we were cleared to leave. Despite this mistake, Dr. Bader did not only NOT apologize, but he double down on the weight and stated that our child should be eating more. Lastly, during my wife's recovery at high risk OB, another clueless resident came in to check her incision and replace the dressing around it as it was "protocol". With that being said, the resident had no idea how to apply the dressing as there were clear signs that it was not fully sealed. The resident never came back to correct it, nor is this documented on my wife's chart - So we have no idea who the heck botched this. My wife ended up getting a seroma / severe infection on her incision shortly after discharge, and we are now paying out of pocket for wound care over a mistake that was most likely caused by this mysterious resident. Overall, this delivery has traumatized my wife, and will continue to do so for who knows how long. USA administration has got to do better at addressing patient needs and ensuring that the residents that are on the floor handling patients are PROPERLY TRAINED. I know for a fact that we are not the first patient to complain about some of the providers named here, and yet here they still are, further perpetuating their terrible care.

If I could give this hospital less than 1 star I would!! My child has had several hospital stays over the past year. EVERY STAY I am having to beg the hospital for her meds. IF an order gets put in they are ALWAYS late. The most recent stay, my daughter’s meds have still not all been ordered. She is on controlled medications for seizures, anxiety, self injurious behaviors, and sleep. It is currently 11:30 at night and still have not gotten all of my daughter’s medications. My daughter is hurting herself and refusing to sleep due to not having her every day meds. This hospital has my child’s ENTIRE medical record on file and still can’t seem to get simple things like the correct medications ordered. Unfortunately this is our ONLY option for healthcare because insure doesn’t want us to go to an out of town hospital for her care. I guess when USA basically monopolizes all healthcare in Mobile County, they think they can do what they want.

My 5yo complex medial child just spent the better part of a week in the hospital. All though all the support staff were great the docs not so much. I can not believe that after five day and two different hospital stays that my son was still not given appropriate tests do to it being a weekend or bc it wasn’t considered emergent. Well when I 5yo child presents with STROKE symptoms a dang MrI shouldn’t have to be argued for! Not to mention that it is 2025 and hung everything on the fact that he was covid + even though he had zero sick symptoms. Also NO ONE from the neurology department called, came saw us or nothing until I called patient relations and complained. Just make sure to be your child’s advocate when coming here!

After going to providence (which has gone terribly downhill and half of the machines was working )they transferred my child to women’s and children’s on Friday evening. From the time we got settled to discharge today, the nurses and doctors on the third floor room #368 was phenomenal! They checked on her and monitored her around the clock and adjusted her meds as needed . They made sure she was comfortable the whole time . Stella the dog was amazing and the coordinator with the the mobile county schools made sure she got her make up assignments within the hour of us meeting. I would highly recommend this hospital.

I recently had a mastectomy last week, and I just wanted to take a minute to Thank my nurse, I was on the 3rd floor her name was Katie Shelton. The sweetest, and she was so kind to myself and my husband. She really went above and beyond. My whole experience was great, as well as my other care givers. I just wanted to leave a positive review for Katie. Thank you

Don't come here unless your doctor referred you for problems and you have to. I switched hospitals and made an appointment. I was scheduled to come back for my anatomy at 18 weeks. When I arrived, I was told I was scheduled two weeks early and would have to come back. They still did a quick scan and I saw the doctor afterwards... This took FOUR. HOURS. Four hours to learn nothing. I was then rescheduled for my anatomy scan at 21 weeks. They called me 2 hours before my appointment to tell me I had to be rescheduled and wait another two weeks. I'll be going to another facility and would never come back or suggest anyone I don't hate to come here unless they have a circumstance that makes it 100% necessary.

Place of horror. Every time I go there I take a deep breath to prepare myself mentally to have a bad stressful day. The nurse staff and doctors are incredibly rude and have zero compassion. Unfortunately, this is the only place where I can bring my child, since there is no hospital for children in Gulfport. I m gonna start with pediatrician visits: - my baby had a rhinovirus, came from urgent care to see her doctor ( made an appointment with doctor Aikin). We drove 2 hours to get there. For some unknown reason doctor didn’t want to attend us, instead we were put there with a STUDENT! Like we are some kind of experiment! I drove 2 hours to be attended by a student!!! And this wasn’t a regular check up, my appointment was important my child had 100.9 fever, and why do I have to receive indications on prescriptions from a student Then the crazy thing was - that nobody told us that we can’t throw a diaper in a trash can in a hospital, and that it is allowed only in a restroom. So, I was told by a nurse, in a very aggressive way, to put my hand inside the dumpster with other unknown residuals ( could have contained some infection from other patients) and pick up my diaper! When they check the height of a baby they hit baby’s head several times. And the doctors in this hospital don’t have any compassion or human empathy. We needed to do a urine test, and doctor said she is going to put catheter inside my baby. And when I reject it, they just keep pressuring me. In other hospitals we have never been asked to put any catheter, I just catch baby’s urine in a cup and that’s it. But here they always pressure to do some violent stuff, give unnecessary medication ( baby spit up after eating sometimes) they would say we need to medicate. Or try to tell me to do surgery on a tong or eye. What is wrong with these doctors This was a first time I heard stuff like that, no other pediatrician ever told us to do surgery. We went to another specialist in California and the doctor there was surprised that we’ve been told all that kind of crazy things. Another experience was with neurosurgeon. In the whole Mobile city they have only 1 pediatric neurosurgeon, appointment was only 1 minute and he didn’t want to answer none of the questions and was very arrogant. So, my advice is try to avoid this place by all cost, if you can travel somewhere else to another state, that is not Mississippi or Louisiana- bring your child to another place. And check everything by yourself, study well what these doctors tell you, because they don’t care about your child health, you are just a number in a line for them. And they only wait till it’s Friday and the end of the day, so they can go home and rest.
