The Whale Shark is a GREAT kayak! It is extremely stable in the water and as kayaks go, pretty comfortable. That being said, it is a tank. I go out with a friend on the tidal rivers alot and I really have to work to move against the tide and wind, where he, (in a 8' sit in kayak) cruises easily. This is not a bad thing to me. I'm a large man, 6'4" and 290lbs. I was looking for a stable fishing kayak. I found it. I bought the whale shark kayak from Eddy about 6 months ago. I live on the west coast. I was fortunate that I was able to get one shipped out here from Alabama. Eddy actually sold one to me before he found out where I lived. (He normally does't ship to the west coast due to costs). The Kayak is heavy, about 125 lbs. Eddy does have trailers for them with soft low pressure (for sand) tires. These are not tow behind trailers, the kayak just site on it and it fits between the swells. I use a ratchet strap to hold it in place. My biggest complaint is lack of sealed storage space. The front storage compartment could have been made much larger very easily. The pedal/propeller drive is difficult for a large fat man to peddle with the seat in the lower position. The flapper/push drive would be easier. But if you raise the seat above the gunnels, it gives you a fairly good angle for peddling and even sitting above the sides of the kayak, it's very stable. Again, if you want a STABLE kayak in the water and don't mind the little extra work to move around, this is the kayak for you.

Had a problem in the middle of the lake and called the number. The owner picks up and stays on the phone with me for 30 minutes until the problem is fixed. Great customer service.

I reached out to Eddie when looking for a new kayak. I mentioned that I was about 4 hours away from him, and he immediately offered to drive an hour in my direction as a courtesy. We made our arrangements, and everything went as smoothly as it could have. Good folks.
