San Diego Community Birth Center

We have absolutely loved and enjoyed our time at the SD Community Birth Center. Nikki is phenomenal, so caring and attentive, and truly goes above and beyond. We first met Nikki a few weeks after finding out we were pregnant and immediately decided to sign on with her as our midwife. Appointments with her were one of the highlights of our months and she ensured we had a healthy, safe, and enjoyable pregnancy and birth. She offered holistic and well rounded solutions to any issues that arose during pregnancy which we appreciated very much. My husband, newborn son, and I simply have had an amazing experience with Nikki, and definitely recommend her and the birth center to anyone, hands down! Thank you Nikki!!!

I gave birth here in December 2024 after transferring from a less than acceptable OB/GYN experience . Both Midwives Nikki and Ashley welcomed me to care with open arms. From pregnancy to postpartum I felt cared for and seen. Their midwife, Parva, was happy to share wisdom on postpartum nutrition with me as well. An added bonus was my son loved spending time there during the appointments and grew to love the midwives. ❤️ The San Diego Community Birth Center is a wonderful place to birth a baby, if you’re considering an out of hospital birth I highly encourage seeking care from this awesome midwifery team. ✨

We have loved our experience with the San Diego Community Birth Center! We were new to town when I sought them out. Right away we were welcomed into the community. There were resources shared and connections made from our initial meeting. Our experience was especially significant for my husband who had a previous child and received care from an OB. Nikki always made time for us and appointments were never rushed. We were able to come with questions and leave with answers and additional info. Her team is SO lovely ranging from doulas, to midwifery students to acupuncturist and massage therapists. Postpartum she has come to my home for visits, brought us warm food. And continues to build community with us. The care from Nikki and her team made ALL the difference in our experience and we would highly recommend the Birth center.

I sought out a birth center pretty late into my pregnancy (33w?) and was denied for being “too far a long” at other centers. Nikki Helms made intake of becoming her patient very quick and easy. The short time before I gave birth being seen by her and Leslie were phenomenal. I learned more from them in the few weeks of appointments than I did in months of my other OB care. Nikki was always available to me for any question or concern, any time of day. I had an incredible birth at San Diego Community Center and if I’m able to again I’ll be coming back!

Nikki and Leslie were awesome! I knew from the moment I found out I was pregnant I wanted to have my baby at a birth center. From my initial visit, I knew this is the team I wanted to assist me with birthing my baby. They were always so open and happy to see me and my family when we came through the door! Birth plan didn’t go according to plan and ended up at a hospital but the team was still there to assist through FaceTime until baby boy came Earth side. To know they were still there to help deliver my son meant everything to me and my husband! I highly recommend Nikki and Leslie and the San Diego Community Birth team!!

Wow! Where to begin?! The team at the birth center entirely transformed my pregnancy and birth experience. I was completely terrified and can honestly say I would not have made it through without the unwavering support of the women there. Nikki Helms is an absolutely wonderful midwife who walked me through every stage, providing me with comprehensive information, reliable referrals, and incredible care. Leslie, my birth assistant, made sure I was always comforted and taken care of. Jarrah, the lactation consultant, helped me immensely post Partum with breast feeding concerns. Deciding to have my baby at the birth center was the best decision I could have possibly made during my pregnancy. No matter how difficult things got I knew that the team at the birth center was always in my corner. I would recommend their services 1000X over. Thank you for taking such great care of me! 😊💛
